Pippa von der Burg Skiva and a dream era

For many breeders, seeing a dog born in their home win an important title at a dog show or competition is one of the highest honours they can hope for. Not only for the title itself, but because in some way it reflects years of selection, decisions, work and effort devoted to breeding.

And if that success comes at the ADRK Klubsieger show, considered by many enthusiasts to be one of the most prestigious and important shows in the Rottweiler world, the achievement is greater still.

This year Pippa von der Burg Skiva became ADRK Klubsiegerin 2026 and overall Best Female of the show, presented by her owner, Oliver Neubrand.

An extraordinary achievement in itself, and all the more significant in light of what the von der Burg Skiva kennel has achieved in recent years.

In 2025 Henry von der Burg Skiva, also bred by Manuel Kohn and Diana Obertreis-Kohn, became ADRK Klubsieger for the second time and also won BOB (Best of Breed), presented by his handler, Martin Johannes. His first Klubsieger title had come in 2023.

2023, 2025 and 2026 will therefore hardly be forgotten by the breeders and everyone around them: three Klubsieger shows marked by two dogs born under the same kennel name.

As we devoted an article last year to Henry's career and bloodline, this time we want to focus on Pippa von der Burg Skiva, the top female at the ADRK Klubsieger 2026.

The von der Burg Skiva kennel

Manuel Kohn and Diana Obertreis-Kohn started their breeding project in 2013 in Merzig, Saarland (Germany), very close to the French border.

Von der Burg Skiva is a family kennel where dogs and puppies grow up in close contact with the family, living in the home and the garden.

The kennel's history is closely tied to one female: Fayna von der Bleichstrasse, born in 2010 and Manuel and Diana's first brood bitch. With her they bred four litters that laid the foundations of their project.

More than a decade later, that first period still has a direct influence on some of their greatest successes, as both Henry and Pippa descend from Fayna.

Origin and bloodline

Pippa von der Burg Skiva was born on 13 November 2022 and is currently owned by Oliver Neubrand.

Her bloodline is particularly interesting because it represents the continuity of several generations of selection within the kennel's own female line.

Pippa descends from Fayna von der Bleichstrasse, the kennel's foundation female, through Bella von der Burg Skiva, dam of Henry von der Burg Skiva, and then July von der Burg Skiva, Pippa's dam.

Pippa is out of Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III × July von der Burg Skiva.

Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III

Rudi has an important record in both conformation and work. He is ADRK and VDH Champion, Champion of Switzerland and Austria and Bundessieger of Austria, and holds the IGP 3.

Beyond his own results, he has become one of the studs most present in pedigrees in recent years, used both in Germany and internationally.

His offspring include dogs such as Arro of Royal Musketeers, Noris vom Willicher Wappen, Pino vom Kressbach, Samba vom Brandauerweg, Schiwago vom Brandauerweg and U'Veljko Flash Rouse, among others.

July von der Burg Skiva

On the dam's side is July von der Burg Skiva, a female born within the kennel's own breeding programme and therefore key to the continuity of its female line.

July passed the ADRK ZTP and was later exported to the United States.

Inbreeding

Pippa's pedigree contains several interesting genealogical repetitions:

Filou vom Räuberweg
5,6,6,6–5
Balco aus der Espenstätte
5–4
Orlando vom Hause Neubrand
6,7,7,7,7–6
Rick von Burgthann
6,7,7–5,6,7,7,7,7,7
Balou vom Silberblick
6,7–6,7
Mambo von der Crossener Ranch
6–4,6,6,7

These repetitions show some of the historic dogs that converge through different routes in her bloodline and help to understand how her pedigree was built.

Titles and career

Despite her youth, Pippa already has important results in both conformation and work:

  • ADRK Klubsiegerin 2026
  • ADRK Junior Champion
  • VDH Junior Champion
  • IGP 1

She also has the corresponding health tests and checks, a fundamental aspect when assessing any dog intended for breeding.

Her win at the ADRK Klubsieger 2026 is so far the highlight of her show career and places her alongside Henry at the centre of a particularly successful period for the von der Burg Skiva kennel.

Offspring

It is still too early to assess Pippa's offspring. Born at the end of 2022, she is a young female whose progeny will need time to develop and begin their own careers.

So far she has had two litters, sired by Vitus vom Hause Neubrand and Malte vom Weiltal, who were also ADRK Klubsieger in 2018 and 2026 respectively.

It will be especially interesting to follow these offspring over the coming years and see to what extent Pippa passes on to the next generation the qualities that have brought her current results.

Conclusion

The recent history of von der Burg Skiva is particularly striking because its great successes come from dogs closely related to each other.

Henry and Pippa share the origin of a female line that began with Fayna von der Bleichstrasse, the first female with which Manuel and Diana started their breeding project, and her daughter Bella von der Burg Skiva, dam of one and granddam of the other.

More than a decade later, that first generation has led to two dogs bred under the same kennel name that won the top title at the ADRK show in three of its last four editions: Henry in 2023 and 2025, and Pippa in 2026.

For any breeder, a home-bred Klubsieger can be a lifelong dream. Achieving it with two different dogs in such a short time undoubtedly makes these last few years a very special period for the kennel.
